How it works

1

Tell us what you need

Submit the place — name, website, or phone number — and up to 3 questions. Add more questions for $2 each.

2

We call them in Japanese

A real person based in Japan phones the facility directly, during Japanese business hours, as many times as needed.

3

You get answers in English

A clear email report within 72 hours — or your money back, automatically.

What we can ask

Anything you'd ask if you spoke Japanese. For example:

  • Do you have rooms available on these dates?
  • Can you accommodate a shellfish allergy / vegan diet?
  • Are you open on that holiday? Do you take walk-ins?
  • Is there pickup from the station? Can we store luggage?
  • Are tattoos OK in the onsen?
  • Do you have parking / an English menu / kids' seating?
One honest note: we ask questions and report answers — we don't make or confirm reservations on your behalf (Japanese law requires a travel agency license for that). But with our answers, you'll know exactly how to book.

Frequently asked questions

Why "Moshi Moshi"?

もしもし (moshi moshi) is how you answer the phone in Japan — the first thing you'll hear when we call a place on your behalf. It felt like the right name for a service that's really just one phone call away from the answer you need.

Why can't I just email the place myself?

Many local places in Japan don't use email at all, or only respond in Japanese. For small ryokan, izakaya and family-run restaurants, phone is often the only way to reach them — and the call has to be in Japanese.

Can you book a room or a table for me?

No — Japanese law requires a licensed travel agency to book accommodation on your behalf. We give you the information you need (availability, how to book, what to say), so you can book directly with confidence.

What if the place never answers the phone?

We try multiple times across different hours and days. If we can't get your answers within 72 hours of your order, you get a full refund — no questions asked.

Who is actually making the calls?

An individual based in Japan, a native Japanese speaker, making every call personally. No call centers, no AI voices.

How do I pay?

By credit or debit card at the time of your request, processed securely by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars.
